It all started when...
Chefs Shane McBride and Damon Wise, working together at Crafted Hospitality, had a dream of setting their chef whites aside and gathering around the Ole Hickory smoker for a weekend of barbecue with an epic crew. And so, Ribdiculous Bar-B-Krewe was born.
Consisting of a group of mostly professional, and mostly Yankee, chefs, the krewe has made the annual pilgrimage down to Memphis for the world renowned Memphis in May Barbecue Competition since 2009. Over the years there have been ups and downs, wins and losses, tears, sunburns, negronis and countless traditions established, but one thing is certain: never order the barbecue spaghetti.
Now in their eleventh year, with the generous help of Shane’s mom / team matriarch Karen, the team has competed across several divisions with top rankings in sauce, wings and exotic categories.

Over the years the team has placed first among over 200 teams in the following categories: Poultry, Seafood, Mustard Sauce, Exotic, Vinegar-based Sauce.
Ribdiculous also regularly places in the top ten for ribs, one of the most competitive categories of the festival.
